Sample preparation 

SOP Architect provides guidance on sampling best practices, dispersant selection and pre-dispersion methods such as sonication.

Dispersion stability check 

An initial stability check is performed and smart algorithms analyze the data for evidence of stability issues like agglomeration, dispersion or dissolution. If any issues are identified, support is provided to resolve them. 

Stir speed titration 

The optimal stirrer speed is selected in this automated test to achieve the most stable and representative results for your sample. The stir speed titration ensures issues like sedimentation are avoided.

*NEW* Ultrasound titration 

The required ultrasound conditions (power and duration) are selected in this automated test to ensure sample agglomerates are effectively dispersed. The ultrasound titration assists in ensuring the primary particle size of your sample is selected.

Obscuration titration 

The optimal obscuration value is selected for your sample. Enough sample is analyzed to ensure representative and accurate results without the worry of multiple scattering. 

Method repeatability check 

Multiple repeat tests are performed and the results are assessed against standard acceptance criteria (ISO 13320, USP <429>) . If the results demonstrate suitable repeatability, you are good to go! But if not, SOP Architect will provide additional support to improve your method further.

Save your SOP

Once you have completed the method development process with SOP Architect, you can save an SOP file for future use at any time. Precise on-site Quantification of Siloxanes in Biogas, Landfill and Digester Gas

The GC-IMS-SILOX is a stand-alone device that has been developed for user-friendly and reliable one-site measurements of siloxanes in biogas, landfill or sewage gas.

The device has a straight-forward single-click menu and can alternatively be run as online monitoring system testing the gas automatically in user defined intervals. Results of siloxanes, silica (SiO2) same as silicon (‘Total Si’) are stored on its flash memory and shown on the 6.4" touchscreen or the ‘Total Si’ value is transferρed via 4–20mA or MODBUS (TCP). To run the system it only takes power and nitrogen (cylinder or N2 -generator).

Advantages of G.A.S.’ GC-IMS-SILOX for  siloxane analysis: 

  • On-site measurements with “one-click” menu
  • On-line/continuous monitoring at set intervals
  • Very low detection limits (µg/m3) with 'total silica' (SiO2) and 'total silicon' (Si) results transferred via4-20mA or MODBUS (TCP)

Flexible sampling is assured by an integrated pump and a six-port valve to either test from gas sample-bags or as preferred directly from the gas pipe via a by-pass. Condensation water can be trapped by the use of an optional (GENIE-) filter.

Its menu allows that an on-site test can securely be carried out by non-specialists. Alternatively it can be used as a 24/7 based on-line monitoring tool to test for individual siloxanes at their relevant concentration levels to take immediate on-site decisions.
